Open Studio I Cendre

Cendre is a solo piece by Soa de Muse, an artist with multiple identities – drag artist, singer, performer, activist – whose diasporic identity and transition form the starting point for an artistic and political exploration.

Drawing on the concept of biomythography developed by Audre Lorde, the show, co-written with the artist Bia Kaysel, blends autobiography, myth and the collective imagination to bring forth a new figure : an Afro-futurist heroine in a state of perpetual transformation.
